Darknet Heroes League Review

Unrelated to the delivery service, Darknet Heroes League (or DHL) is a darknet market whose niche is drugs of all kinds. DHL is an escrow market, and most of its vendors have been invited to sell on the site. Though for quite some time, DHL was an invitation-only market, at the time of this review, it has temporarily allowed the registration of new users.

DHL, compared to other markets, has a very appealing (and even intuitive) design. It has a very simple black-and-gray interface which, while it may not look elaborate, is easy to use and serves its purpose very well.

How to Access Darknet Heroes League

If you would like to access DHL, be sure that you understand how to use the following things: the Tor browser, PGP encryption and decryption, bitcoin, and (optionally) the use of a VPN.

Contrary to what you may think about the dark web, a link to Darknet Heroes League can also be found via a Google search. However, the links to the market that show up in search results use Tor2Web proxies like onion.cab or onion.to, which are not anonymous – therefore we don’t recommend that you use them.

TOR browser, dark web, deep web

  • PGP is an encryption program (the initials stand for “Pretty Good Privacy”). It is used frequently on the dark web for signing, encrypting, and decrypting messages, particularly on markets like this one. If you’re unfamiliar with it, see our article PGP Tutorial for Newbies.
  • Bitcoin is a digital currency referred to as a “cryptocurrency,” in which encryption is used to generate new units, as well as to send and receive payments. Bitcoin is used on most darknet markets, including DHL.

  • VPN stands for “virtual private network.” While there are differing opinions as to whether you need to use one in addition to Tor, if you insist on using one, make sure that they have a no-log policy and won’t give up your information to others.

Account Registration

Even compared to other markets, DHL is very strict in its registration process. It is likely that this is to help prevent scammers and DDoS attacks from overloading the market.

Therefore, they not only require you to have a username and password, but also a PGP key. On some other markets, the PGP part is optional, but that’s not the case here! Beyond that, you can’t merely take a shortcut and use an online PGP generator (e.g. iGolder), because DHL will recognize it! They may even send you a message designating which generator you used.

Consequently, you need to use a program like GNU Privacy Guard to generate your key, or your command line interface. That being said, once you have your PGP key, you’ll be sent an encrypted message, which you have to decrypt using your private key; you must then paste the decrypted message into the box on the site before you’ll be granted access. The decrypted message will just be a string of random characters.

A previous review estimated the number of users to be at about 10,000. However, according to their current user stats, there are about half that number of users at present:

It may be that some of the market’s previous users have migrated to other markets. The open registration is not likely to last forever, so if you are still interested in registering, you had better get on it! Originally, when the market’s registration was closed, vendors were allowed to invite up to 20 users, and the invites were not for sale.

Darknet Heroes League Interface and Functions

DHL has a very simple design that should make learning it second nature. Though it has a dark theme, most of the links seem to be easily visible.

One glitch that we came across while browsing the site is that some of the menus did not show up, even when the scripts were enabled. In other words, the site normally has icons that make it more user-friendly, but none of the icons showed up when we were accessing it. We initially thought that this may have been due to restrictions placed by the NoScript extension, but it did not seem to matter either way.

Nonetheless, it did not make the site that much harder to navigate.

Beyond this, Darknet Heroes League has an extremely secure internal messaging system, which features the option to double encrypt any messages sent.

As opposed to some other markets, Darknet Heroes League does not list the specific amounts of each product available next to the category names. Of course, if you open the sub-menus, you’ll be able to see the exact amounts that are for sale.

To the right of each listing is its price, in both BTC and USD. (This can also be changed to display Australian Dollars, British Pounds, Canadian Dollars, or Euros.) In addition, you will see the product’s weight (in grams, of course), as well as an escrow option (i.e. whether or not escrow is available).

The categories are shown in a hover menu style, which may not be the most effective method of presentation, but on the other hand, it does make browsing the site simpler. One helpful feature is that if you go to a listing page, there is an Ask field at the bottom, in which you can directly ask a vendor about any specific product.

Search and Listing Filters

Darknet Heroes League, like most of its darknet market contemporaries, has a search function. Because some of the graphics weren’t functioning properly, it took us a moment to see it. It’s the field that says “CRAVING FOR SOME” in the upper left hand corner of the screen.

Select this field, and type in a general description of the drug you’re looking for. For example, typing in “Molly” gets these as the first four results (at the time of this writing):

After the initial search, you can narrow down the search results by Ships From: “Domestic” or “Global.” In a previous review of this site, there were other search filters available, specifically “weight” and “price,” but these were no longer an option.

Nonetheless, the search function was not difficult to use, and we were able to find the specific products that we were seeking at the time of this review. If you find the searching to be difficult, then just try different search terms, and you should eventually find what you’re looking for.

How to Choose a Vendor

Like its darknet market peers, DHL features vendor profiles that give specific information about each vendor, and should help you in choosing one.

Vendor profiles are efficiently designed on the site, with most showing a minimal amount of information (though some vendors have longer descriptions). Each profile has a brief description of the vendor, along with where the products are shipped from and to; when they were last active on the site; vendor deals; star ratings; and the number of “fans” that the vendor has.

It should go without saying that you need to choose a vendor who has high ratings, is active on the site (according to the “last seen” stat, and has a reasonable number of followers (or as they call them, “fans”). We also recommend picking a vendor who can ship to you domestically. Shipping any product from overseas is more complex, and if you’re caught receiving narcotics of any kind internationally, that carries much higher penalties. Chances are you can find someone who ships from within your country – if not on this market, then another one.

In addition, you shouldn’t rely solely on the information that’s printed in the vendors’ profiles, as it can be deceptive. Join the official DHL forum (linked to above), where other users can give you advice about which vendors to use.

How to Order

Ordering products on Darknet Heroes League is very similar to most other markets. First, find the specific product that you’re interested in, whether by using the search functions, or merely browsing through the site, and then click on it.

It should take you to a page for that product (as shown above). Once on the product page, scroll to the bottom, and you should see some “Buy” buttons with different amounts of the product, as well as the price, and the payment methods. Click on the amount of the product that you wish to purchase.

Once you’ve added the item to your cart, you can then continue shopping, or checkout. Two buttons will be displayed with these options written on them once you have added an item to the cart. (It is much like shopping on any other eCommerce site.)

How to Pay for Purchases

Once you have finished shopping for goods, you will, as stated above, proceed to the checkout page. As you can see in the screenshot, the page informs you of any shipping fees you will have to pay, as well as your order total (in your designated currency), and the same in bitcoin.

There are two methods of payment used on Darknet Heroes League: escrow or direct pay. In the case of escrow, you will be sending your bitcoins to the bitcoin payment address provided by DHL. This is not unlike the escrow system used by most other darknet markets – your bitcoins will go through the payment system set up by DHL, and once the terms of the sale have been completed or the item has been delivered, the bitcoins will be released to the vendor.

Direct pay,  is basically a synonym for “finalize early” or “FE,” as it is called on other markets. In other words, you will be sending the payment directly to the vendor. We don’t recommend this method for first time buyers, as it can expose you to being scammed.  Some vendors only accept escrow or direct pay, while others give you the option to use either. We would only suggest using direct pay if you have been working with a particular vendor for awhile, and have built a trusting relationship with her.

One thing to note: you will not be given a tracking number for your order, as you might on sites like Amazon or eBay. This is standard practice for darknet transactions, and is intended to safeguard both you and the vendor. This is why it’s of the utmost importance that you determine whether or not a vendor is trustworthy before you purchase something from him, and why you should use the escrow system if you are unsure.

Darknet Heroes League Support

Darknet Heroes League’s messaging system allows you to contact their admin or support team about any questions or problems you may have, so we recommend you use it. Simply go to the icon that says “Conversations” at the top right of the page, and enter the name of the person you wish to contact.

As mentioned earlier, you can also contact a vendor with any questions about her products, either via the Conversations page or on the product page.

Final Thoughts

Darknet Heroes League offers a wide variety of drugs and a reasonably large number of vendors. On the other hand, it appears to be very glitchy and does not , at present, offer a great user experience. Its saving grace is its excellent customer service and numerous options for feedback and communication.
