Open Road Market Review
The Open Road Market is one of the most recent markets on the deepweb. Despite being new, it offers many cool features such as 2-fa login and multisig escrow, which provide greater security for the buyer. The market has also introduced a rolling commission that goes from 0% to 2% and a Forum based DD (Direct Deals) where established vendors with a proven reputation can list goods without a commission.
Since the market is extremely new, it has very few items but due to its simple and intuitive interface, it may become more popular in the future.

How to Access the Open Road Market
In order to use the Open Road market, you need to download and install the Tor browser which conceals its users’ identities and their online activity from surveillance and traffic analysis. If this is your first time using it, you may want to check out this simple Do’s and Don’ts list. You may also want to purchase a VPN service.
You will also need a set of PGP keys in order to communicate in the market and to use 2-fa. In the event that the market is seized by or hacked, your name and home address will remain encrypted, accessible only to the person who it’s meant for.
Remember to always use a mixer when making any deep web related transaction. Always use one address per transaction and you also may want to use Bitcoin through the Tor network, if you want to be 100% safe, which is easier through the TAILS amnesic O.S
Lastly, you may want to use a peer-to-peer exchange like LocalBitcoins, Paxful or BitSquare, which don’t require the buyer to divulge any documents to a company. Only the seller will have access to your account information if you’re using an electronic payment but this can be mitigated by using a payment method like cash on hand or cash deposit.
Creating an account
Creating an account on the Open Road Market has a few more steps than usual. Once you click the market link above, you’ll be taken to the login page. Click Join in the upper left corner to register an account. You will then need to ent a username and password. Make sure these are not related to your real life identity or clearnet alias in any form. Choose a 4-8 character-long pin and solve the captcha. Don’t forget the pin because you’ll need it to withdraw.
Then, you’ll need to login with your username and password. Solve the captcha and click login
The first time you log into the Open Road market, you’ll be shown a mnemonic seed which allows you to change your pin number in case you forget or reveal it to someone. Write the seed down and keep it somewhere safe. Now copy the seed as you’ll need it for the next page
Now, you’ll be prompted to enter your seed. Paste it and click Verify
And you will finally be logged in.
Interface and functions
The Open Road Market is simple. There are three menus, the categories menus on the left and two others located on the top of the screen. On the left side, we have notifications, messages, orders, and the support and forum pages. On the right side, we have the Control Panel and the Logout button.
The Control Panel then has a subset of menus that are displayed when the user hovers over it. These include overview, balance, favorite, order, settings and vendor application.
One you open any of these pages, the categories of the market will disappear and be replaced with a forth menu as so:
The overview section (in the picture above) gives you a quick high-level view of your funds and recent activity. The balance page allows users to deposit or withdraw coins for traditional escrow orders and to donate to the market. Favorites is where you can keep a list of your preferred sellers and items. Then, the settings menu allows you to change your login and account information, activate 2-fa, changed profile details, set a PGP key and a multisig public key.
Like we mentioned before, this market is new and as so listings are small. However, the market is working hard to attract both customer and sellers by offering a free vendor’s bond for a while, providing direct deals for established vendors with a proven reputation and offering a rolling commission.
The categories on the Open Road market are as follows:
- Digital Goods
- Fraud Items
- Guides & Tutorials
- Lab Supplies
- Security & Hosting
Each category has subcategories that are shown once you click on the main category.
On counterfeits, we find counterfeit accessories, apparel, and bills. On digital goods, we have Software, e-books, entertainment, and music.
The most popular one is, as usual, drugs. This category has the usual suspects, cannabis, psychedelics, stimulants and so forth. It also has tobacco.
On fraud items, we have accounts, cards, and CCV, data dumps and documents.
Guides & Tutorials has guides on fraud, drugs, and hacking.
Finally, services include, cashing out, ID & passports and other services.
All other categories are currently empty.
Search Functions and Filters
The search tool in the Open Road market is highly intuitive. It sits on the upper part of the screen and is always visible. You simply need to choose a category, enter your keyword and click search.
Then, once your search results show up, you can filter your search by by country of origin and accepted destinations and by price (min to max). You can also sort the results by popularity, feedback, price and recent.
A proper search tool can make or break a user’s experience on a market, and Open Road is doing it right.
How to Add Funds
To add funds, simply go to your balance page by clicking the BTC 0.0000 link on the top menu. This will take you to your balance page:
Here, you can deposit funds by sending them to the address shown. You can also withdraw from your balance and you can also donate to the market
You can also add a multisig public key on the settings page. Click settings and then click Multisig. You can now add your the public key you want to use for multisig escrow. You need to have the correspondent public key to release the funds. You can also add an automatic refund wallet in case the order doesn’t go through.
How to Choose the Right Vendor
This is one of the most important parts of shopping on the deep web. Vetting a vendor is always a challenging task and even those with experience get scammed at times. However, choosing your vendors correctly will reduce the chances of being scammed drastically, so don’t just go for the cheapest product, go for the trustworthy vendor!
Once you’ve found the item you’re looking for in listings, you’ll need to click the vendor’s name, which can be found below the listing name. Click on it and you’ll be taken to the vendor’s page.
Here, you’ll see the vendor’s most important stats like the number of positive, neutral and negative reviews, the user rank and the most recent feedback from buyers.
You’ll also have access to the vendor’s PGP key and refund policy. Be sure to check out the vendor’s refund policy so you won’t be taken by surprise if he denies you a refund for some reason.
Lastly, you can also see the vendor’s profile, products and send him a message.
How to buy
When you found the item you’re looking for, click on the name or image of the listing to go to the detailed item page.
Here, you can see the product’s details, feedback and return policy. You can also see if escrow is available, the type of item (digital or otherwise) and the place where the vendor ships from.
You can also choose the postage options and quantity of the product. Once you’ve done so, you can click “Buy it Now”. If you want to buy the item later or you have any question regarding it, you can save the item in favorites or PM the seller.
Once you’ve clicked Buy It Now, you’ll need to confirm the postage options and quantity once more and click continue.
Then, enter your postage info (encrypted) in the format the vendor specifies in his profile or in the default format if there is no preference. Once you’ve done so, you’ll be given the option of choosing from regular escrow or multisig (don’t buy without escrow).
If you have your multisig public key activated, you can select multisig (and if it’s available). If not, then choose Escrow and click Continue.
Your order is now being processed. Be sure to review it and release payment once you receive it. Also, if the item is not as described or didn’t arrive, you can dispute the order or ask for a refund. Good luck!
Under normal circumstances, the market users have access to a community forum. However, it is currently in maintenance.
Support & Help
You can create a support ticket by clicking “support” or by sending a message to “Open_Support”. The market administrators will then send the response to your inbox. However, there is no FAQ or help page.
