T•chka Market Review

The T•chka Market is a darkweb market. Although the market has few items, it provides users with great features like 2-out-of-3 multisig escrow and the ability to buy through mail or drop, where the package is left in a special location to be picked up by the buyer. The market also supports the traditional balance/escrow system and F.E (finalize early). Users can also enjoy the market’s referral program.Users can only buy items for Bitcoin, no other altcoins are allowed.

The market’s interface is decent, although the design is a bit tacky. Nevertheless, it’s very simple to use. Creating an account is as simple as it gets and does not require a special invite.

How to Access the T•chka Market

To access the T•chka market, you’ll need to download the Tor browser. If this is your first time using it, you may want to check out this simple  Do’s and Don’ts list. Make sure to avoid clicking on links to the market from untrusted sources as these can lead to phishing websites. You’ll also want to make sure you buy a VPN before using Tor.

PGP is also advisable in order to communicate within the market. Having a PGP key will allow you to encrypt any conversations, so that even if all market data is seized by Law Enforcement or hacked, your sensitive information (like name and home address) will remain encrypted.

Remember to always use a Bitcoin mixer. Since transactions are recorded on the blockchain, you’ll want to cover your steps. A mixer allows you to throw your coins in with others’ in order to throw off any blockchain analysis attempt. We also advise you to buy Bitcoins from a p2p source or exchange like LocalBitcoins or Bitsquare, as these provide a higher degree of privacy due to their out-of-band payment systems.

Creating an account

Creating an account on the T•chka Market is pretty simple. Just click the link at the top and enter your username and password. Make sure these are random or at least not connected to your real life identity or clearnet alias. Then, you’ll be asked to fill in the invitation code, which will be filled in automatically if you’re referred by a friend or website. You can also choose to become a vendor or buyer. Only become a vendor if you know what you’re doing.

Interface and functions

The T•chka Market is easy to navigate, although the design isn’t great (that background is awful).  The menu is located on the left side of the screen and allows users to navigate the marketplace and vendors list. Users can also click on “feed” to get the latest news from the community forum, vendors’ updates and more. You can also access your balance/deposit/withdrawal page by clicking Balance.

When you click on settings, you’ll be taken to your profile page where can change your username, create a status and a description of yourself (needless to say, nothing in this field should reveal any info about you). You can also upload an avatar to replace the default Mr.Robot avatar.

You can navigate the “settings” section through the menu on the right side of the screen. On account, you can upgrade your status to premium or premium+. On contacts, you can add your Bitmessage, Tox and XMPP accounts to receive notifications outside of the market. On the payments section, you can set an auto-withdrawal address and a multisig private key. Lastly, the Encryption page allows you to set up your PGP public key and to use it for 2-factor authentication login.

Below the Wallet link, you can set your preferred language for the market. You can also access Orders, Messages, Support and Referrals. The support page allows you to create a ticket for the mods.

Categories/Listings

Although there aren’t many listing in the the T•chka market, we were amazed by how well organized the market is. Categories are split into precise sub-categories that allow users to really narrow down their search for an easier experience. This can also have the opposite effect for entrant users that may be a bit overwhelmed. Nevertheless, it’s a good characteristic.

This market has strict rules about what it allows vendors to sell. There are no weapons, explosives, poison, porn, stolen or carded items, leaked government documents, personal information (on users), or drugs that fall in the “untested” category. These would be drugs that are fairly recent and have unknown effects for long-term users.

The categories on the T•chka market are as follows:

Like we mentioned before, there aren’t many listings. As usual, the drugs category is the most populated one. Here’s what we mean when we say the market is organized:

As you can see, basically everything is present in the drugs category. There is also another category for prescription drugs and another one for steroids. This is due to the large number of variants in these subcategories.

In Digital Goods we can find documents and data and database dumps. On guides and Tutorials, we can find information regarding hacking, drugs, security and more. Software gives us source codes, exploits and more. If you’re looking for hacking or social engineering services, you can find them in the services section, although these are in small supply.

Search Functions and Filters

We care about the search tool. When looking at a dark web market it is an important tool that can really make or break user experience. Nothing is more annoying than sorting through a bunch of items that have nothing to do with what you searched for. Unfortunately, this is the case with the T•chka market.

When searching for an item, you can only search for it on the global market and can’t narrow down by categories. Search filters can only be used without the search term (meaning, that when you use a filter, you can’t use it in combination with a search term and must search through all the listings with those characteristics).

The search tool is located on the right corner of the screen above the categories and the filters are located below.

How to Add Funds

Adding funds can be done on the balance page. Simply click on Wallet and send BTC to the address shown. Remember to always use a mixer. Bitcoin is NOT anonymous or untraceable, so play it safe!

You can also add a multisig public key on the settings>payments. This address will be used to sign off on multisig transactions. This provides you with an higher degree of safety.

How to Choose the Right Vendor

Choosing a vendor can make or break your deep web experience. Vetting a vendor can be challenging and even after years of experience, you can still get scammed out of your coins. Choosing your vendors wisely will save you a lot of heartache and money in the long run, so take your time.

The fact that T•chka only allows a multisig escrow will also save you some coins in the long run, as this is the most difficult method for any vendor to scam you with. Nevertheless, it is still possible for the market and vendor to collide in scamming a buyer, but it’s an unlikely scenario that would take some effort by the market and result in low profits.

Listings are shown with a lot of vendor information. However, you can still click the vendor’s name to get more details. You can also go to the vendors’ page to search by sellers instead of items. Once you’re on the user’s individual page, you’ll be able to see all his listings. Then you can see his detailed reviews and feedback on the Reviews page. You can also leave a message on the user’s board which will be public or you can PM him.

Remember to check the About page to see the vendor’s description and his policies (especially regarding refunds). If the vendor has a preferred address format, use it.

How to buy

When you found the item you’re looking for, click on its image to go to the detailed item page. On the bottom of the page, you can see the item description and the feedback it has gotten so far. Above the description, you can choose the quantity and click the blue button that displays the price.

You’ll be taken to a page where you can choose your shipping and escrow options. If you have entered your multisig public key, you’ll be able to use multisig escrow (if the vendor allows it).

When using escrow, you’ll be taken to a page with the order details, payment details, shipping details and chat. Use the chat to convey your address to the seller and then send BTC to the address shown on Payment Details. After the payment is complete, follow the package on the Shipping details section.

Forum

Users have access to a community forum which can be accessed by clicking on Community. Here, you can talk about the marketplace, see introductions by vendors, find promotions, deals, jobs and services. Ofcourse, there’s an offtopic board.. Check the rules page (on help) before using the board.

Support & Help

T•chka offers a help page (click Help). The first thing you’ll see is a picture of Bob Marley, which made us smile a little. On the right side of the screen, you can see the submenu where you can access the market rules, how to sell and buy and the market PGP public key. You can also create a support ticket on Support which is located on the bottom left side of the screen
